A gesture, held in clay.
Foam #6 is a ceramic work in European terracotta, engobe and glaze. A slender black form rises from a small, uneven base, with a flash of orange and yellow close to the ground. Its rough silhouette draws attention to the pressure and movement that shaped it.
For Memory Foam, Onree follows the movement of his hands and the response of the clay. Pressing, pinching and bending leave their traces; firing makes those passing gestures permanent. The irregular form carries the energy of its making into the finished work.
Part of Memory Foam at Jinny Street Gallery, Jingumae 2-chome, Tokyo, 1–26 October 2026.
